Dear LOL families and friends,
My best wishes for 2017! May this year bring lots of joy, happiness, health, and prosperity in your life. May God bless you always and may He fulfill all your dreams.
I hope you had the chance to login to our Blog and see all the wonderful things we did for 2016. If you have not, please do so and invite your families and friends to see what we do and invite them to join us in serving the poor.
Once again, I thank you all for your generosity and love of the poor. Let us continue to serve Christ through our poor brethren.
Please let us continue to pray for each other, our families, all the people of the world and for peace.
Due to the holidays, Linda and I have not met to do our accounting. We will do this as soon as we are both available to meet and will send you the financial report.
Our 2017 Easter Feed the Homeless Event will be on April 7-8, 2017. I look forward to seeing you all again.
Take care and God bless you.
Hear our prayer today for all women and men, boys and girls who are homeless this day.
For those sleeping under bridges, on park benches, in doorways or bus stations.
For those who can only find shelter for the night but must wander in the daytime.
For families broken because they could not afford to pay the rent.
For those who have no relatives or friends who can take them in.
For those who have no place to keep possessions that remind them who they are.
For those who are afraid and hopeless.
For those who have been betrayed by our social safety net.
For all these people, we pray that you will provide shelter, security and hope.
We pray for those of us with warm houses and comfortable beds
that we not be lulled into complacency and forgetfulness.
Jesus, help us to see your face in the eyes of every homeless person we meet
so that we may be empowered through word and deed,
and through the political means we have
to bring justice and peace to those who are homeless. Amen.
