I hope and pray that everyone is doing well and staying healthy. Again, with the COVID still lingering, I decided that it would be best to cancel our 2022 Easter event again. I will keep you posted once it is determined to be safe to proceed with our future events. Let us all make a conscious effort to do our part to protect our families, friends and community, especially those who may be high-risk, please get vaccinated. The well-being of everyone should be our priority. Vaccine works!
Last Christmas season, after sending the greetings and photos of the collage I made of the gift cards we donated in our blog, I received donations from our LOL family and friends-$535.00. THANK YOU for your generosity and continuing support. Your financial support allows us to continue our mission to help the poor.
During this season of Lent, let us remember why Jesus Christ died on the cross. The communal disciplines of Lent are prayer (justice towards God), fasting (justice towards self) and almsgiving (justice towards neighbors).
We may not be able to feed the homeless at this time but we can continue to pray, fast and give alms to the needy.
This Easter, Labor of Love is once again supporting Fr Joseph Magdaong, Pastor of St Stephen Catholic Church in Monterey Park. He requested LOL assistance to help the poor families in his (parochial) community. We donated 30 Walmart gift cards ($20 each) to help the poor parishioners on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. I would like to thank Ate Nessie Rongavilla for bringing our LOL mission to St Stephen Catholic Church.
After delivery of the gift cards, I shared the photos to a few families and friends. Immediately, I got donations! As of today, I received $325.00! AWESOME!!!
